Our HO Slot Car Pages

A while ago, I wanted to find something that our five children, my wife and I could do together during the winter months. I remembered racing slot cars from when I was a kid, so I purchased some Tyco track on an auction website. I started the learning curve, bought more tracks and cars, and in a short time I was hooked once again...and so were my kids.

What follows is a picture diary of the changes and development that our interest into HO scale slot cars went through, and where it is now.

Starting with a simple oval using our first lot of Tyco track.

My girls wanted to do some drag racing, so they set up a drag stip on their own.

We quickly progressed to 4 lanes tracks so that we could have more people involved.

These are some of our first track layouts with Tyco track in four lanes. This means we had to add another power pack for the second set of lanes.

This one is a little more interesting than a simple figure 8, and a bit harder to drive. The longer diagonal makes for good speed in a confined area. We found out that to get consistant power, each lane needed to have its' own power pack. You will see 4 power lanes in this layout.

After some experimenting with the Tyco, I moved over to the modern Tomy version of the A/FX track. I found that the extra track variations they offered would allow for more flexability. The move was worth it. All the photos from now on are of Tomy track, though with different makes of cars.
