A PAIR OF VINTAGE "GRANT" 60 WATT MONO BLOCK TUBE AMPS - NICE!!!
These amplifiers were made in England by the "Grant" of the famous "Grant-Lumley" power amps of the 70's and 80's.
These are powerful 60 watt pentode mono tube amplifiers that allow you to use your choice of either the fabulous but outrageously expensive KT-77 power tubes, or the more affordable, and still wonderful sounding EL-34's. They can also be re-wired for triode mode operation.
These amps sound wonderful and have a great sense of authority as well as a delicacy and openness that you would expect from a high quality tube amp. The large transformers store lots of reserve power to drive all types of speakers. I have used them with equally good results on inefficient electostatic Quad ESL-63's as well as with my very efficient Ars-Acoustica LaDiva dynamic speakers. The amps have 4, 8, & 16 ohm speaker taps so you can use these amps with any speaker you want.
The input terminals have been upgraded with Cardas RCA jacks. I also had some internal wiring upgraded, but I don't remember what was done anymore. The condition of the amps is VG+ as you can see from the photos. I have used them, but never abused them. They work perfectly and sound great! Sorry, no manuals, but you can check out a schematic at the following link. Grant amplifiers.
I am offering these for sale at the price of $1,000 USD.
These amps are about 35lbs each. They will be packed seperately, each wrapped in bubble wrapped in boxes filled with foam chips, styrofoam and newspaper. No charge for packing, and all shipping costs will be charged at cost. I would consider selling them at a lower price if they were to be picked up.
