For the vinyl audiophile! A superb PV-5 for $1,000 USD.
This PV-5 has been HEAVILY modified to play phono only! About $1,000CAN in modifications have been done. New caps, new resistors and gold tube sockets in the phono stage and Cardas RCA jacks for the phono inputs and pre-amp outputs have been installed. The phono stage has been hard wired directly to the volume pot, so that the line stage has been bi-passed completely. Only the on/off button and volume pot are active. The unit could be returned to standard operation but that would defeat the reason all this work was done in the first place.
This pre-amp sounds unbelievable!!
I have compared it to units of various prices and it always comes out on top! It is unbelievably neutral, and incredibly dynamic. Warning!!! if you have a problem in you system this pre-amp will show it up!
You will need a step-up for a low output MC cartridge, the phono stage has only 41.5 db of gain. But it will work fine with a moving magnet cartridge that has an output of 4-5mV's.

The pre-amp will be supplied with the complete tube compliment of 2 x 12AX7's, 1 x 5751, and 1 x 5965 in the phono stage, and 3 x 5751's and 1 x 5965 in the line stage should the purchaser choose to return the pre-amp to standard operation. The unit is in perfect operation, but the sound would probably improve even more with some new tubes.
I am the original owner and the overall condition is excellent.
It will be shipped in its original box and packing with its' original owners manual inside an outer box for protection.
